Plush toys with squeakers in them are pretty useless around here. Eva can disassemble one in seconds. Although she does really seem to like a stuffed lobster that makes a weird underwater noise. That one has remained intact for months.
Since adopting our new puppy, I've tried a handful of toys that are supposed to be good for teething pups, but look rugged enough to withstand an adult beagle's interest. The Nylabone "PuppyFish" looked promising. It wasn't. Although, in their defense, it does say on their website "Not recommended for adult dogs..." It's impossible to have a toy that is only for the puppy -- seems cruel to keep taking it away from Eva. But ridiculous to watch her destroy it. And Emily, the poor teething pup, is stuck chewing bark from beneath the wood rack. Or socks.
It may seem inane, but a good dog toy is hard to find. They either like it so much that it's quickly torn to bits, or they completely ignore it. But I recently did find something fabulous, from a company called JW Pet. Here's the toy: Great Ape.And here it is in action. It has lasted for weeks.
